How do you accept payments for booking fees, session payments and prints?
I offer my clients several different ways to pay;
BOOKING FEE PAYMENTS:
For my booking fees, I accept credit/debit card payments, gift certificates (as purchased through my online store), or can accept checks by mail or at our in-person pre-session consultation, or PayPal or Venmo payment options. For Venmo & check payments, you will need to email me to arrange those payment options.
SESSION FEE BALANCES/PAYMENTS:
For the remaining session fee balances after booking fee payments are made, I will send you an invoice to your email address given at booking. From there you will need to sign your contract and can pay the remaining balance of the session fees due. You will have between the time I book with you until the day of our session to complete payments. If you would like to set up payment plan options, please let me know on your booking form and I will contact you to set that up. You can pay via debit/credit, gift certificate, PayPal, Venmo, check or cash on the day of our session. Please note: payments will need to be made in full on the day of our session.
GIFT CERTIFICATES:
I offer my clients the ability to purchase gift certificates as gifts for loved ones! To purchase a gift certificate, click the button below. You can purchase them via debit or credit card.

DIGITALS, PRINTS & PACKAGES:
For all my online print store products, there is only a couple ways to pay. That is via debit card or credit card. To purchase your digital downloads, printed photos, etc you will need to do so through my online client gallery store. I cannot accept payment via checks, cash or other for this.

How often should I book Family portraits?
I always recommend booking family portraits at least once to capture all the growth and stages your family experiences year to year! It’s never too soon, just don’t wait too long to make sure I have open dates available before I’m booked for your preferred season!
What time of year is best for family photos?
The sweet spot is typically spring through fall. I primarily shoot outdoor natural light, so the warmer weather months make the best and most comfortable times of year for the whole family when shooting outdoors. If winter is your vibe, I’m always down for a snowy winter shoot, too! Winter sessions can be a little harder for the littles, but I’ve got my tricks to help.
Taking photos isn’t my husband’s or kids’ favorite thing! I’m worried it may be tough to get a good photo of us! Any advice to make it easier?
Stress less, play MORE! That’s the golden rule to a more carefree, and natural photography session. Let me worry about the lighting, posing, and silly smiles. Enjoy the silly prompts, jokes, and games I have you play to bring forward the emotion and genuine interactions and smiles between you and your family. If the kids are crazy full of energy, let’s let them run or adventure and play red light, green light. If they are fussy, let’s snuggle, relax and give kisses. For the adults that struggle with family photos, I keep it as quick and as pain-free as possible, I promise! I am no strangler to making audience-appropriate jokes, chat about things that interest you as a family during our session, and if dad needs a break to kick it elsewhere, I can always photoshop in a favorite celebrity crush to that fam photo instead! Just teasing! But I do have some mad photoshop skills that help create the perfect images, even if they didn’t happen exactly like that on the day of. This is a huge help with lots of kids or adults that always blink at the sound of a shutter. Focusing less on getting that perfect portrait and more on just being a family in a beautiful location and taking in the moment is what I aim to do. This alone helps to set the stage and takes the pressure off you and the family.
What do I need to do to prepare for my session?
While I cover this in more detail during our first consultation, I recommend shopping for outfits that coordinate instead of match, bring plenty of water, be well rested, and to not starving. Nobody does well on an empty stomach. I also recommend reading through my comprehensive style and preparations guide, following the checklist as needed and contacting me if you have any additional questions I can help answer between now and our session!
What should we wear for our family session?
After you book with me, I will send you my style guide with links and resources to great places to shop for family friendly attire! Some basic suggestions are:
Lightweight neutral colored flowy dresses
Lace tops and print skirts
Khakis and solid tops for the guys
Clean denims and jackets over solid tops for guys
Simple neutral color prints and patterns for the littles
Sundresses for little girls
Cute neutral overalls for little boys
Nice, clean dress shoes that coordinate (no work boots or dirty sneakers)
Pretty, yet comfortable sandals or flats (no flip-flops)
Accessories that tie together a look but don’t distract like belts, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, bows, etc.

My daughter has been my muse, my model, and my inspiration since she was born. Looking back at my own motherhood journey, I am so glad I took so many photos of my little angel, but what I didn’t invest in were professional newborn portraits! I definitely regret not paying for newborn photos shortly after we welcomed her into our arms! And now she’s a tween!
In life, we rarely have the opportunity to redo special moments such as these, so from one mother to another, children’s portraits are ones you simply can’t forget! I think maybe that’s part of why I became a photographer in the first place. I would be honored to help you remember each one of those tiny toes just as little and perfect as they are in every stage of their story!
