Our senior photography session with Kendyl was nothing short of epic. We embarked on a picturesque journey around the Kearney and Grand Island area, seeking out the perfect backdrops to encapsulate Kendyl's vibrant spirit and her love for all things colorful and lively. From the sprawling fields of wildflowers to the enchanting sunsets on the Platte River, each location served as a canvas to paint a portrait of Kendyl's radiant persona.

Kendyl's high school journey has been intertwined with her passion for competitive cheerleading, where she shined brightly as a key member of the cheer squad. But Kendyl's story goes beyond her athletic achievements; it delves into the depths of her kind heart, her love for family, her zest for life through concerts and travel, and her undeniable charm that earned her the title of a real-life Barbie doll..
Planning the Perfect Senior Photography Session - Chasing the Wildflowers
To ensure that Kendyl’s senior portrait session truly reflected her interests and personality, we meticulously planned a two-day photoshoot that embraced different locations and vibes. Our goal was to create a gallery that showcased the many facets of Kendyl's spirit and personality.
Our senior photography session with Kendyl was nothing short of epic. We embarked on a picturesque journey around the Kearney and Grand Island area, seeking out the perfect native wildflower filled prairies to encapsulate Kendyl's vibrant spirit and her love for all things colorful and lively.
Sunset Senior Photography Session on the Platte River in Kearney Nebraska
Nearing sunset, we all headed to one of my favorite and quiet Platte River locations to wrap up the end of our day for her first part of senior photos. It was a warm, golden sun drenched June evening along the Platte River for her sunset photos. During our session, Kendyl dipped her toes in the river, explored the grassy banks, and even found more wildflowers along the sandy shores. As we shot her final images of the evening, I showed her just how enchanting the photos were turning out on the back of my camera. The sun filtering through her blonde locks and the tall grasses made for some “Pinterest-worthy” senior pictures, she remarked. I recall just how excited both her and her mother were over all the magic we were capturing. Kendyl, I swear, is a natural born model! Her mom remarking how hard it would be to choose their top favorites to print, post in her senior yearbook, and share online! I couldn’t help but agree, and be so happy they selected my Shooting Star package so that I could provide loads of final edits, and all her outfits and locations.
The evening was filled with laughs and casually strolling the shallow riverbed, and talking about her future plans after graduation as we drove the short ride back to Kearney together.
As Kendyl looks forward to her post-graduation journey, with ambitions to excel both academically and in cheerleading as she ventures into college, these senior photographs stand as a timeless testament to her youth, spirit, and boundless potential.

The climax of our session unfolded a few days later at Snapshots by Legacy on the Bricks in Kearney, NE, where we delved into a modern-day Barbie-inspired studio experience. Our vibrant sets, ranging from vivid pinks reminiscent of a Barbie dream house to a bright orange room filled with slinkies for that Malibu Barbie vibe, transported Kendyl into a world of whimsy and nostalgia. Her love for funky, colorful, unique and bold retro flare shown through as we played around amongst the many backdrops.

It was an absolute honor celebrating Kendyl's Senior story, a chapter filled with cheer, love, laughter, and the limitless possibilities that await her.
